Metric - Help I'm Alive

Synthetica is the 5th studio album by the Canadian band Metric, which was founded in New York in 1998. At the center of the album is singer Emily Haines, whose voice is reminiscent of Alison Goldfrapp, but doesn't come close to her extraversion.

Metric play in a different league of the alternative genre, where contemporary social issues have their place. Synthetica refers to the statement by singer Haines: “It's about what is real versus what is artificial”. This is not to say that modern technology is rejected, but the boundaries are fluid and so you often no longer know whether something has been created naturally or whether something artificial has already been integrated, as in plastic cosmetic medicine, for example.
