Clubfeet - Last Word

Clubfeet is an international music project with roots in Melbourne and Cape Town. The five band members once came together on the French Riviera - a rather unusual place to start a musical journey.

Their music combines dreamy melodies with a touch of melancholy and is perfect for dancing the night away or quiet Sunday mornings in the rain. The song “Last Word” is a good example of this: atmospheric, gentle, but with depth. Particularly noteworthy is the remix by Andrew Maury, better known as RAC, which gives the track a special, danceable touch. Clubfeet prove their sensitivity for modern electronic pop music with feeling.

Kosheen - Addict

With their fourth album “Independence”, Kosheen and singer Sian Evans return to the glory of their great successes with the single “Addict”.

Markee Substance and Darren Decoder once again lend the sound dark, manic electronica, bringing together all the stylistic elements that Kosheen fans love so much. The idea of taking drum'n'bass in a different, more open direction, with vocals and more soul and the will to be able to play live on stage, emerged towards the end of the nineties. However, there's not much drum n' bass to be heard in “Addict”, which personally doesn't bother me at all. “Independence” takes Kosheen away from the mega labels and makes the band more independent, which is noticeable in the video, for example. Only a preview of just under a minute is available on YouTube.

Giantree - Communicate

The contrast between exuberant synth pads and melancholy lyrics creates the finest pop with feeling.

Giantree released their debut album “We All Yell” in March 2012 and hail from one of our neighboring countries, Austria. The song “Communicate” in particular impresses with an exciting contrast: lush synth pads meet thoughtful, melancholy lyrics. The sound is delicately arranged and emotionally charged - pop with depth and a lot of atmosphere. Giantree succeed in expressing both lightness and melancholy with their music. The band hails from Vienna and quickly became an insider tip for lovers of melodious indie productions.

Get Well Soon - You Cannot Cast Out The Demons

The third album by Konstantin Gropper, better known as Get Well Soon, will be released on August 24, 2012.

It has the voluminous name “The Scarlet Beast O'Seven Heads - La Bestia Scarlatta Con Sette Teste” and is entirely dedicated to the great art of Italian cinematography. Gropper has an extreme command of the art of film scoring and can draw on a wealth of experience. Now the artist has devoted all his attention to what is probably his most cinematic album, which makes you forget your own everyday life and think you are part of a big Hollywood movie yourself. It gets under your skin - thumbs up!

Theophilus London - Last Name London

Hip-hop is not everyone's cup of tea - or is it? Theophilus London, who incidentally comes from New York and not London as we assume, combines chanting in a style that is more reminiscent of the British capital.

Dan Carey, who has also lent a hand to Franz Ferdinand, Hot Chip (!) and Lily Alien, has produced an unusual sound mix that is also suitable for the dancefloor. “Last Name London” is the first single from Theophilus London's debut album Timez Are Weird These Days, which was released on July 19, 2011. The track combines minimalist beats with a hint of 80s electro and features London's signature laid-back flow. With the line “Last name London, first name Theophilus”, he confidently introduces himself and underlines his unique style.
