Italo Disco 2024
With its catchy melodies, driving beats, and nostalgic vibe, it captivates a new generation. DJs are digging up old classics, labels are releasing reissues, and modern producers are drawing inspiration from the style. Berlin, with its love for retro sounds, provides the perfect ground for this revival. The magic of Italo Disco lives on – and dances into the future!
Science Vs. Music
As soon as the frequencies of the music show a certain purity, a coherence between sound and pictorially represented form sets in. Also one would like to establish a connection to the holy geometry or "the world of the matrix" when looking at it. Whether this is the case cannot be answered at this point. Impressively worth seeing is the video but in any case!
New Romantic - 1981
Bands like Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, and Visage shaped the sound and style of a new generation. It was the perfect fusion of art, fashion, and music – rebellious yet elegant. New Romantic was more than just a music style – it was a way of life! Perhaps the most exciting start to a new decade? We reported on this a long time ago. The video is so revealing that it is now getting our attention again.
Kraftwerk
"Hütter" or internationally better communicated "Hutter" will reach aight/zero in 2026! Robots age as well known only in the exchange of the parts. Kraftwerk will probably not live to see this, and so Kraftwerk has long since reached death, purely in terms of content, important prophecies of the future are missing from their catalog, such as the imminent revolution in biotechnology or energy production. But they don't have to prove themselves anymore, because their work and vision is unique in the history of music. "I am the musician with calculator in hand" hits the nerve of the current time perfectly and the intelligent robots are just coming. In addition, Kraftwerk was always a band that romanticized technology. The images are clearly structured and futuristic, their melodies tend to be thoughtful but hopeful, which results in an idiosyncratic communication. In fact, Kraftwerke belongs more in the gallery than on the stage, and so one day there will be a concert with 4 Robots, which the founders will watch smiling from another dimension. Kraftwerk will then be immortal!
L'Altromondo - from another world
Pop art united with music! It was followed at the end of the 60's by the Mach 2 in Florence, the Piper Club in Turin and the L'Altro Mondo in Rimini. The latter is the only one to survive to the present day, making it one of the original clubs that called themselves "Radical Disco". Derived from "Radical Design," the movement was driven primarily by architects who were ardent advocates of the new technology and advocated the creation of new meeting spaces through light, music and performance art.
