Ulrich Schnauss - A long way to fall
Schnauss has been releasing electronic music since the mid-90s, mostly with an open structure. But it wasn't until 2001, with the release of the album “Far Away Trains Passing By”, that he made his breakthrough, partly because he himself says that he no longer produced for electronic target groups, but for himself. The artist is now able to make a living from his music and this is certainly also due to the remixes he has produced for Depeche Mode (little 15). Born in Kiel in the year 77, he lived in London for many years, but according to the latest information he has sold his studio there and moved back to Hamburg. This information comes from a Reddit post in which a user reports having learned from Jerome Froese that Schnauss now lives in Hamburg...
Cat Power - Cherokee
The short haircut suggests that changes have taken place. In the new album she was more self-confident - more optimistic. Many of the instruments were recorded by herself, which also allows her to adorn herself as a producer. Anyone expecting the ex-permanent sufferer to sound exactly as she did 13 years ago will have to accept that this artist does not want to and cannot stop her further development, which will probably go down in history as an intermediate step in the manifestation of this album. Everything seemed a little more calculated, but that shouldn't stop you from listening to it. In October 2018, she released her acclaimed album “Wanderer”, on which she showed herself to be musically restrained but emotionally profound. The album includes a collaboration with Lana Del Rey on the song “Woman” - an impressive anthem of female self-assertion.
Lime - Unexpected Lovers
With refreshing album covers (always in Lime green), they enchanted the still virgin dancefloors of the western world. When the synthpop group was founded in Montreal, the couple Denis & Denyse LePage probably didn't realize that the origin of the high-energy sound (Hi-NRG) would one day go back to them. Of course there was Moroder and Donna Summer, but if you look back today, Lime's sound was at least as timeless, if not even more influential. A deep voice rich in overtones and a “sugar-coated” high voice can still lead to successful chart positions today. Incidentally, the couple are divorced and Denis LePage is trying his hand as a transsexual act under the pseudonym Nini Nobless on lime-tune.com
Primal Scream - Autobahn 66
The song feels like a wild road trip through neon-lit highways — gritty, hypnotic, and full of drive. Led by Bobby Gillespie, the band is known for constantly reinventing their sound. After the dance-fueled “Screamadelica” and the political fury of “XTRMNTR,” they returned to a more guitar-driven, bluesy rock with “Riot City Blues.” “Autobahn 66” stands out as a driving anthem — distorted riffs, pulsing rhythm, and a visceral sense of freedom. The title plays cheekily with German clichés — fast roads, endless journeys, a touch of Kraftwerk meeting Rolling Stones attitude. As always, Primal Scream stay true to their core: loud, bold, untamed — and absolutely worth the ride.
Bobby Womack " The Bravest Man Of The Universe
he was one of the great voices in soul and R&B history. Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1944, he began his career as a guitarist with Sam Cooke and later made a name for himself as a solo artist. Womack was known for his soulful songs, his distinctive voice and his authentic way of telling stories. Classics such as “Across 110th Street” or “If You Think You're Lonely Now” show his extraordinary talent. The Rolling Stones' first hit was written by him, which earned him a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The creative break was only interrupted by chance by Blur frontman Damon Albarn, because he hired Bobby Womack as a guest singer for two songs for the Gorillaz album “Plastic Beach”. The work was so fruitful that the co-production was enough for an entire album. So who is “the bravest man of the universe?
